Music Basics
An acoustic roots musician living in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Nealon is influenced by Celtic and old-time stringbands, country blues players like John Jackson, and songwriters like Joni Mitchell, Pierce Pettis, and Bob Dylan, and inspired by the woods and the river.
Book me for your festival, outdoor venue, or listening room, school, or coffeehouse. Solo, with my buddy Mark as Case Studies, with my band Tide Spring, or in an acoustic band, audiences in Virginia and North Carolina enjoy our folksome textures, tight harmonies, and eclectic acoustic energy.

Dave's life
Born at sea in the teeth of a gale.
A Virginia native, Dave grew up fiddling around with his guitar, which is weird, because guitars aren't fiddles. Nowadays when he's not delighting your ears with thoughtful words and brilliant finger-pickin', you can find him birding, hiking, cycling, taking pictures of nature, making Dad Jokes, supporting his kids, or sharing oatmeal with his lovely wife, Beth.
